  • Overview

    The NE Area Director of Sales directs the NE Area Sales Team of Territory Sales Managers & Key Account Specialist Representatives. The Director sets strategy and policy for Vetsource’s sales function and is responsible for recruiting, hiring and ensuring the team is fully staffed, trained, coached and equipped to achieve outstanding sales results. The NEArea Director of Sales is also the liaison between the NE Area Sales team, Practice Success Team and other parties including internal departments, Leadership Team, Key Accounts and Strategic Partners to ensure the NE Sales Team is informed and optimally functioning to assist in meeting the overall business goals of the company.


    This a remote working position that requires travel. 


    • Establishes productive, professional relationships with veterinary hospitals/clinics in assigned territory
    • Sell Vetsource’s ScriptRight and other Vetsource product and service solutions
    • Coordinates the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and executive management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations.
    • Performs sales calls and presentations to educate clinics on Vetsource solutions
    • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts
    • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis.
    • Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary stakeholders
    • Coordinate with strategic partners and outside vendors for mutually beneficial collaboration
    • Other projects/duties as assigned

    Performance Measurements:

    • Achieves assigned quarterly sales quota in designated accounts
    • Meets assigned expectations for profitability and customer retention
    • Achieves customer objectives as defined by Vetsource Management
    • Completes annual account plans that meet company standards and update quarterly for review with Management

    Supervisory Responsibilities:   None

    • Ability to travel, as required and periodically requiring overnight stay to attend meetings, training and other work related events as scheduled
    • Executing and managing demo days at various dispensaries throughout territory

    • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
    • Results driven, proactive and able to work autonomously
    • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing priorities
    • Flexible, embrace change in a rapidly evolving work and market environment

    • Must be able to use sound judgment and know when to ask manager for assistance


    • Minimum three (3) years sales experience, preferably in animal health or similar industry
    • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business management or related field preferred; or related work experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in animal health industry
    • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Familiarity of eCommerce business (on line retail)


    Working Conditions:

    • Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time
    • Remote working
    • Environment where dogs are present in office areas of Vetsource locations
    • Travel required - minimum 15%
    • Must have transportation
