    Vetsource’s product offering and pricing are the backbone of the business. Vetsource manages thousands of competitively priced products on behalf of our veterinarian partners that gives them a convenient, reliable source for the medications they need to treat pets without the high cost of keeping each medication on hand. The Pricing Manager is responsible for analysis and recommendation for competitive multi-level pricing strategies for thousands of products in Vetsource’s eCommerce catalogs. This detailed and highly impactful role ensures pricing strategies that maximize revenue and margins, and that each product is priced competitively in order to help drive growth to the business within a rapidly growing, changing environment.

    • Support the pricing operations team by building pricing models and conducting elasticity analyses to measure the effectiveness of pricing strategies and promotions
    • Define pricing strategies for new products through value-based pricing and competitive pricing
    • Develop insight in market trend and opportunities, customer needs and challenges, and competitive intelligence
    • Continually optimize existing pricing structure, and innovate in new pricing strategy to drive revenue and margin growth
    • Build and manage the 3-year pricing forecast and planning based on the market trend, product strategy, and sales planning
    • Define and analyze frameworks for pricing decisions and activities including revenue growth, margin, customer acquisition and expansion, retention, lifetime value, and market penetration
    • Development of strategies around list prices, discounting, channel pricing, bundling, and market segmentation
    • Identify potential price adjustment opportunities, and analysis of accounts to determine correct price levels with a focus on targeted pricing strategies
    • Turn numbers into actionable insights and implement tools to aid the pricing process and develop a center of excellence around pricing within the organization
    • Development of complex pricing models based on item classification, pricing, customer group, and profitability analysis
    • Prepare analysis, reports, charts, and visual data representation of findings, and benchmarking pricing across customers
    • Perform advanced financial modeling and analysis of current accounts, potential accounts, and company pricing
    • Conduct analyses utilizing business trends, economic conditions, customer initiatives, and historical learning, future trends, and provide data driven support to the business
    • Analyze and provide input and feedback to pricing strategies for base pricing to help build strategic pricing recommendations that maximize revenue
    • Lead projects to identify, evaluate, recommend, and execute margin improvement plans based on reviews of price, volume, share, and mix trends by customer or business segment
    • Provide direction to team members responsible for implementing exception pricing agreements
    • Lead hand off of final, approved pricing decisions to the pricing operations team for execution
    • Define source reference data needed to feed into decision support tools for optimal pricing decisions
    • Provide supporting analysis for new and existing contracts through partnership and collaboration
    • Drive consensus with key stakeholders to improve pricing and drive change throughout the organization

    • Ability to navigate through complex issues, interpret and transform financial data into recommendations to senior leadership
    • Knowledge of B2B2C pricing principles and techniques
    • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet applications and data management; power user of MS Excel
    • Advanced analytics and business modeling, advanced Excel skills
    • Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills
    • Strong capacity to prioritize workload and to start and stop projects seamlessly, despite frequent interruptions
    • Ability to understand and perform complex business processes and pricing strategies
    • Ability to perform at a high level with minimal instruction and work both individually and in a team environment
    • Ability to make sound judgement decisions based on the impact to the organization
    • Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate with various groups within the company as well as various external business partners
    • Integrity - maintaining confidentiality is integral to the position to protect operations
    • Able to learn, understand, use, and master complex data models, systems, and tools (Ex: Oracle, Chartio, Business Objects, etc)
    • Ability to receive constructive feedback in a professional manner


    • Bachelor’s Degree with 5-9 years experience in accounting or finance, business, or equivalent job related experience, or Masters degree in economics, finance, mathematics, or statistics
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, with a high level of accuracy

    Preferred Qualificaions:

    • Familiarity of veterinary pharmaceuticals a plus
    • Consulting experience a plus


    Working Conditions:

    • Environment where dogs are present
    • Ability to work on repetitive tasks and maintain focus
    • Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time
