  • Overview

    The Pharmacy Triage Technician should be highly detail oriented, focused, great at multi-tasking, reliable, have excellent customer service skills, and good communication/teamwork skills. The candidate must be a licensed Oregon certified pharmacy technician in good standing.  

    Responsibilities

    • Accurately and efficiently review inbound faxes and enter prescription data into the pharmacy order system (Vboss); Accurately and efficiently review and enter all mailed in prescriptions into the pharmacy order system
    • Perform general triage support functions: cancelling orders, updating ship methods, addresses, reshipment of orders, and general troubleshooting
    • Communicate with clinics to assist the pharmacist with building pet profile information and check pet weights (outbound calls)
    • Assist enrollments and practice support teams by updating licensing documentation
    • Ensures that all pharmacy related communications and written documentation is complete and accurate which is essential for the smooth functioning of multiple team units within the pharmacy
    • Ability to cross-train and work competently in other Triage tasks
    • Other projects as assigned, including possible job sharing with other departments

    Qualifications

    • Must be licensed Oregon certified pharmacy technician in good standing
    • Excellent adherence to policies/procedures; demonstrates precision and good judgment at all times with respect to daily functions
    • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of prescription abbreviations and mathematics related to prescriptions
    • Communicates in a positive, supportive, professional manner with customers, pet owners, and coworkers
    • Must have excellent attendance and a strong work ethic
    • Must be organized, motivated, detail oriented, and focused
    • Must have an ability to adapt to new challenges and remain flexible in a dynamic business environment
    • Must possess a high level of integrity and confidentiality
    • Problem solving skills: should be adaptable, thorough, and innovative
    • Flexibility to work potentially changing schedule, including Saturdays 

    Working Conditions:

    • Ability to sit and work at a computer for long periods of time
    • Environment where dogs could be present in the office areas of the business
    • Call center environment

    Education:

    • High School diploma or G.E.D.
    • Licensed Oregon certified pharmacy technician in good standing
