  • Overview

    The pharmacy supervisor will guide day-to-day operations of the pharmacy workflow technicians. The supervisor will be responsible for a group of Pharmacy Workflow Technicians; reviewing and monitoring performance to optimize outputs, ensuring we are working towards a common goal, remaining productive and avoiding conflict. The supervisor will work on, or direct projects of Pharmacy Workflow Technicians as assigned by the pharmacy operations manager. The supervisor may assist with review of employees, be involved with hiring, issuing discipline and team development with guidance from the workflow manager.

    Responsibilities

    • Being responsible for day-to-day operations of pharmacy workflow. This includes: positioning team members to ensure steady output, taking corrective actions to resolve employee disputes and productivity issues, and ensuring team members execute assigned tasks
    • Being focused on driving tasks
    • Assisting the pharmacy workflow manager with technician training and scheduling
    • Assisting other technicians with workflow dynamics and daily order dispensing, in accordance with pharmacy policies and procedures
    • Consult on performance reviews and issuing discipline under the oversight of the pharmacy workflow manager
    • Assisting workflow manager with hiring process
    • Working closely with pharmacy leads to ensure team unity
    • Completing and/or assign tasks as needed, or requested by pharmacy operations manager
    • Developing team talent; create and implement written plans for optimizing team member performance
    • Provide team with regular feedback regarding performance metrics to include corrective action if necessary
    • Assist pharmacy workflow manager with leading, coaching, mentoring, motivating and retaining staff
    • Expected to spend 50% of time participating in pharmacy workflow duties (subject to change based on the needs of the department)
    • Other duties as assigned by manager

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Supervise Pharmacy Workflow Technicians, Leads, and Workflow Shipping Clerks
      • Ongoing training and coaching of Pharmacy Workflow Technicians, Leads, and Workflow Shipping Clerks
      • Assist manager to coach, develop, motivate, counsel, and discipline employees
      • Consult on employee performance reviews, including recommending salary actions and promotions consistent with company guidelines

    Education/Experience:

    • GED, High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Oregon Certified Pharmacy Technician and current license from the Oregon Board of Pharmacy

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Associates Degree or equivalent experience
    • Previous experience in a leadership role (manager, supervisor, etc)

    Working Conditions:

    • Ability to stand and work at a computer for long periods of time
    • Ability to tolerate an environment where dogs could be present in the office areas of the business
