  • Overview

    Vetsource’s product offering and pricing are the backbone of the business. Vetsource manages thousands of competitively priced products on behalf of our veterinarian partners that gives them a convenient, reliable source for the medications they need to treat pets without the high cost of keeping each medication on hand. The Pricing Analyst is responsible for both the set-up and maintenance of all product level information and competitive multi-level pricing for thousands of products in Vetsource’s eCommerce catalogs. This detailed and highly impactful role ensures that each product is not only priced competitively, but that the product offering is competitive, complete, and up to date in order to help drive growth to the business within a rapidly growing, changing environment.

    Responsibilities

    Pricing Management- manage and execute important updates in product pricing, pricing strategies, and competitive pricing management

    • Maintain multiple pricing levels and fee structures to support various partners and customers
    • Lead price change project planning and execution
    • Process price lists, contract pricing in agreements, and announcements to implement all price changes at manufacturer specified timing
    • Conduct bi-monthly and quarterly market research to adjust pricing and make pricing strategy change recommendations accordingly
    • Provide pricing analysis and guidance to support enhanced decision-making at the sales level when adding and removing products from catalog
    • Provide analytical support and make strategic recommendations regarding pricing-related matters such as acquisition, wholesale, suggested retail, margins, fee strategies, etc.
    • Manage large spreadsheets and databases in a production environment

    Product Information Management – manage and execute important updates to the electronic catalog database including FDA regulated product information and pharmacy descriptions, product images, and categorization

    • Manage new item set up and maintenance, product switches, and discontinuations, including all internal and external communications regarding changes while maintaining internal SLAs for pushing new information and changes to production
    • Assist in product categorization to ensure both customer satisfaction and reporting consistency
    • Assign products and keywords by product category and manage cross-selling strategies
    • Manage accurate internal product detail database with understanding of how it affects the eCommerce sites and back-end reporting and provide strategic recommendations accordingly
    • Process digital assets and associate them to products/websites as appropriate
    • Create and review art files (layout and color adjustments)
    • Create and update product content to support multiple websites and catalogs, including partner eCommerce catalogs
    • Ensure product content adheres to strict Federal Drug Administration regulations regarding direct-to-consumer advertising
    • Audit eCommerce and partner sites to ensure data and price accuracy
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
    • Logic and mathematical ability to navigate complex business processes and decision trees
    • Ability to become a pricing and product information management expert for internal and external partners
    • Ability to learn and use appropriate job-related software applications such as a product information management system (Akeneo), pricing systems, CRMs, ERPs, pharmacy management systems, analytics tools (Chartio and Crystal Reports), etc
    • Strong capacity to prioritize workload and to start and stop projects seamlessly, despite frequent interruptions
    • Ability to perform at a high level with minimal instruction and work both individually and in a team environment
    • Must be able to make decisions with sound judgment and know when to ask supervisor for assistance
    • Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate with various groups within the company as well as various external business partners both verbally and in writing
    • Integrity - maintaining confidentiality is integral to the position to protect operations
    • Product knowledge of veterinary pharmaceuticals a plus
    • Ability to receive constructive feedback in a professional manner

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance, business, or equivalent experience
    • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, with a high level of accuracy

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • One to two years’ job-related experience
    • Familiarity with product information management software and pricing
    • Familiarity with finance or accounting principles
    • Familiarity with veterinary pharmaceuticals

    Working Environment:

    • Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time
    • Noise level in an open office environment is normally quiet to moderate
    • Environment where dogs are present
