    VetsourceTM provides Home Delivery pharmacy services to over 8,000 veterinary practices across the country. As the only industry-endorsed Home Delivery pharmacy provider, we source quality medications and nutrition products directly from the manufacturer and ship them right to pet owners’ front doors.

     

    The Human Resources Intern will directly assist the Human Resources Team with a wide range of projects related to HR compliance, recruiting, onboarding/orientation, and employee benefits.  This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills she or he may have acquired in school related to his or her particular areas of interest, and apply them in a professional setting. 

     

    Opening:        Paid Internship

    Status:            Temporary Full-Time or Part-Time

    Duration:        8 – 12 weeks

    Location:        Portland, OR

    Responsibilities

    The Human Resources Intern may have the opportunity to learn the practical application(s) of:

    • Steps in the recruiting and hiring process, including: posting job openings, reviewing resumes, conducting phone screens, and preparing job offers
    • The importance of employment law and compliance in multiple states, especially regarding employment eligibility, confidentiality, proper maintenance of employee files, and forms management
    • The interrelationship of HR and related departments in the areas of new employee paperwork, payroll related to onboarding and termination, and use of an HRIS system
    • Employee benefits eligibility related to new hires, and open enrollment

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist with general administrative duties and projects as needed
    • Post open positions to job boards and maintain applicant tracking
    • Assist in recruiting and hiring processes
    • Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation
    • Assist with employee file maintenance and auditing
    • Scanning and uploading of documents into online repository
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Proficient use of Microsoft Office and internet applications
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and numerous assignments simultaneously
    • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to work independently.
    • Detail oriented
    • Must be able to make sound judgement decisions and know when to ask their supervisor for help
    • Ability to receive constructive feedback in a professional manner

     

    Education/Experience:

    • Recently graduated or currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing Bachelors in Human Resources, Business, or related field

     

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Previous experience in customer service

    Working Conditions:

    • Environment where dogs are present
    • Office sharing
